Responsibilities:
- Deliver care and health promotion activities tailored to the specific needs of children and young people, including asylum seekers and care leavers.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and professionals to assess health needs and provide support or appropriate referrals to external services.
- Support registered nurses in care planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with organizational procedures.
- Assist in risk assessments and contribute to safe care planning.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
- Uphold principles of dignity, respect, consent, and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Participate in a preceptorship programme with guidance from a supportive and experienced team.
- Develop skills in mentoring, supervision, and education of junior staff or carers.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate Studies.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grades A–C) or Level 2 equivalent.
- For non-native English speakers: IELTS Academic overall score of 7.0 with no component below 6.5.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in a health or social care field.
- Completion of Health Care Assistant (HCA) development programme or care certificate.
- Previous experience in community-based settings or working with children and adolescents.
- Involvement in staff mentoring or supervision.
