What you’ll do

  • Utilizes a variety of techniques, including dusting, sweeping, spot washing, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, buffing, polishing, and refuse removal, to clean and maintain a variety of surfaces, including floors, entrances, lobbies, elevators, escalators, stairways, walls, windows, and walkways.
  • Cleans and disinfects a variety of surfaces, including walls, windows, doors, mirrors, light fixtures, ceilings, air vents, and ducts. Additionally, they wash and disinfect items such as refuse receptacles and dietary carts.
  • Manually or with the assistance of dollies and trolleys, transport furniture and/or equipment to a designated location.
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, brushing, and agitating are employed to clean carpets and rugs.
  • Utilizes techniques such as dusting, polishing, and wiping to clean and disinfect furnishings, woodwork, ledges, fixtures, and shutters.
  • Cleans and disinfects washrooms, and replenishes supplies such as detergent and towels.
  • Strips cleanses, and reassembles beds in accordance with the region’s guidelines. Cleans disinfects, and organizes objects such as tables, lockers, cupboards, and basins. Utilizes apparatus such as step ladders to hang and remove items like window drapes and bed curtains.
  • Empties and cleans refuse containers from a diverse range of locations, including lobbies, offices, soiled rooms, and patient rooms. Sorts and packages recyclable materials and biomedical waste for transportation. Transports refuse from buildings to a central collection area.
  • Discusses concerns and issues with the Supervisor and/or Manager and reports damaged and/or inoperable fixtures and furnishings.
  • Removes snow from the entrances of buildings.
  • Maintains associated equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing components such as vacuum bags, filters, and pulleys.
  • Responds to emergency cleanups in accordance with established cleaning protocols.
  • Fulfills additional responsibilities as directed.
