In This Role, You will :

  • Perform rudimentary administrative tasks and home management responsibilities as specified and in alignment with the established service plan (e.g., meal preparation, storing and handling food safely and hygienically, ensuring the comfort and security of the client’s immediate surroundings, performing light housekeeping, etc.).
  • Support the customer with the policies and procedures of the assisted living facility.
  • Observe and notify the Program Coordinator of any concerns that may arise about the client or their surroundings.
  • Preserve the privacy of clients, family members, caregivers, and the CRC.

What we are Looking for:

  • A valuable asset is prior experience in providing care for geriatric and/or vulnerable individuals.
  • Only English is in use. Speaking Cree is a strength.
  • Practical competencies that are commonly acquired through day-to-day activities include dependability, punctuality, stress management, and effective interpersonal communication.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytic abilities, as well as the capacity to contribute positively and constructively to a team.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively as a member of the support/core team. Strongly dedicated to upholding the foundational tenets of the Red Cross Movement.
  • Capability to present oneself professionally.

Working Conditions:

  • Conditions may differ in the residences of clients located throughout Moosonee, where the work is primarily conducted.
  • Ideal candidates for this position should possess the ability to operate according to a flexible work schedule. Occasional overtime, which may include nights and weekends, and frequently with brief notice, may be required.
