We are seeking a motivated individual with clinical exercise experience to supervise a small team of clinical exercise personnel throughout the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The position is part-time and necessitates collaboration with the Head of Physiotherapy to enhance the service. The individual in this position will provide clinical support to the team that is responsible for providing a variety of exercise opportunities for patients throughout the trust, as well as work clinically with patients with complex requirements.

The Clinical Exercise Lead will be supplying the Trust with expert knowledge regarding clinical exercise. They will collaborate closely with the Head of Physiotherapy to establish and sustain the standards, quality, and effective clinical oversight of the clinical exercise personnel in the Therapies Directorate. The three exercise instructors, two of whom are located in Bethlehem and one in Maudsley, will receive line management from them. They will provide professional assistance to the clinical exercise instructors located in the operational directorates.

In addition to providing clinical sessions with patients through individual or group work, the postholder will also work with patients with complex physical requirements and provide additional clinical support to the instructors as needed.

The individual in this position will serve as a spokesperson for physical health within the trust, emphasizing the beneficial effects of physical activity on the mental health recovery and overall well-being of service users.
