Operations Assistant

There is an immediate opening for an Operations Assistant at Wilsonart in Temple, Texas. This position will ensure that the business functions efficiently by providing a diverse range of administrative and staff support services to the Director of Operations and other manufacturing and operations team members as assigned. Manages programs, initiatives, and/or processes that are unique to manufacturing and operations. Executes additional responsibilities as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The employee locates and attaches pertinent files to correspondence that the employer needs to address.
  • He composes letters and memoranda using verbal guidance, written instructions, or his understanding of the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Lead or participate in departmental or company initiatives, including holiday events and programs.
  • Organize and schedule communication meetings, including departmental meetings and viewpoint meetings.
  • Ensure that the necessary technology is in place to facilitate successful meetings, including the setup of a computer, telephone, and presentation. Arrange for the provision of food, meeting spaces, and other amenities.
  • Prepares presentations that are of professional caliber using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • The individual utilizes their knowledge of systems or procedures to compile and preserve records of business transactions and office activities of the establishment.
  • As required, they compose announcements, postings, letters, emails, memoranda, and other forms of communication.
  • Assists the executive in the completion of certain administrative tasks, which are typically confidential.
  • Places orders for supplies and other materials as required.
  • Creates and schedules appointments, travel arrangements, hotel reservations, vehicle rentals, and so forth.
  • Answers the telephone, provides information to respondents, and routes calls.
  • Respond to correspondence, prepare outgoing mail, and read and route incoming mail.
  • Performs additional responsibilities that are appropriate for the position in a professional, courteous, and competent manner.
