The Facilities Directorate provides a diverse array of services, including domestic cleaning, portering, and patient and retail catering, all of which are beneficial to the delivery of high-quality patient care. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has intriguing opportunities for Support Service Assistants to join our facilities team at the Leverndale & Dykebar Hospital Campus.
Main Purpose:
The primary objective of the Support Service Assistant position is to:
- offer exceptional domestic and hospitality services
- guaranteeing the preservation of a safe and clean environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
Please be advised that the health centers only provide a primary cleaning service and do not provide food preparation. In compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification and the Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI_ Task Force Code of Practice), you will adhere to the established cleaning work schedules, methodologies, and procedures.
You are required to rotate through our wards, clinical areas, and all departments. Occasionally, you will be responsible for providing food and beverage service to patients in the wards, by Food Safety Regulations.
Duties:
Your responsibilities will encompass the following:
- Present an effective
- exceptional service to patients and personnel
- adhere to a specific work schedule that pertains to designated areas.
It is necessary for you to adopt a flexible approach to your daily regimen. The cleansing agents will be utilized safely and economically, adhering to the manufacturer’s recommended procedures. Mechanical cleansing and kitchen equipment will be implemented. You must notify the supervisor of the necessary work materials and verify the delivery of cleaning supplies and equipment.
You will be required to don protective clothing provided by the Department and complete all daily and weekly sign-off sheets for your work areas. We will provide all the requisite training to guarantee that your work environment is secure and that you are comfortable in your position.
