Position Summary:

Assists the nursing personnel in the provision of patient care on the Patient Services units as a member of the caregiving team. Assists physicians and/or regulated healthcare professionals with patient care responsibilities in accordance with hospital policies, standards, and procedures.

Performing duties associated with assisting the team in maintaining a secure, hygienic, and pleasant environment for patients.

  • The individual is tasked with the responsibility and accountability of delivering patient care to a designated cohort of individuals while operating under the supervision of regulated healthcare professionals and adhering to the hospital’s established standards. These duties consist of:
  • Patient meal tray delivery, patient nutrition, meal assistance (including opening packages, ensuring patient comfort, and food consumption documentation), and meal provision as needed.
  • Providing assistance with activities of personal hygiene, including ambulation, toileting, and cleansing, under the supervision of regulated healthcare professionals
  • As needed, provides patients with physical assistance by assisting with transfers and lifts.
  • Engages in a variety of patient care responsibilities and non-professional activities pertinent to ensuring the patient’s comfort and personal requirements are met, as well as maintaining records as required.
  • Assists in maintaining a secure, sanitary, and comfortable setting by performing necessary cleansing and infection control duties.
  • Documents every concern expressed by patients and their families.
  • Notifies members of the team of any developments or concerns that arise regarding the patient’s condition.
  • As required, disinfects and cleans beds, chambers, and equipment in accordance with THC regulations.
